This monastery on the pastoral, agrarian planet of Ravenna is in charge of one of the largest Hesychast orders of the Universal Church, Via Epistimic or the Way of the Mind. All other Church monasteries belonging to the Via Epistimic sect answer to St. Hombor's and they all see the clearing of the mind of stray thoughts as a way to meditate about the Pancreator and also to block users of psychic mind powers. The Orthodoxy presumably entrusts the training of Church Penitent psychics to Via Epistimic monks since they are more resistant to psi powers.
